The Sanctuary

Miracle Horse Rescue and Sanctuary (MHR&S) is a Federally and State recognized 501(c) 3 nonprofit 88-0488512 established in 2001.  We are dedicated to the preservation and welfare of abused and neglected equines of all types and conditions.  We provide a permanent sanctuary for horses where they are able to receive positive human interaction which food and water on a daily basis where so many of them were deprived of.  They live a peaceful life getting to be what they were created to be, horses. They are with us until it is their time to cross the Rainbow Bridge and they leave with dignity and a gentle hand holding them.  

We have rescued countless numbers of horses who lived horrific lives before coming through our gates.  We have rescued mares in foal who were slated to be sent to slaughter and a devastating demise.  These mares were able to give birth to their babies in peace.  These babies have gone to live in their forever homes and their mothers remained with MHR&S to live out their lives.
